Jeff Allen

CEO, Sloppy Joe’s Enterprises, Inc.
Board Chair, Sloppy Joe’s Foundation, Inc.

As CEO of the world’s most famous (and favorite) bar, Jeff is responsible for the management of corporate governance and operational performance for all of the enterprises’ many business endeavors.

A certified public accountant, since 1993, Jeff joined Sloppy Joe’s in 2002 after owning a successful CPA firm in Key West for many years. Jeff earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Florida State University and a Master’s degree in Accountancy from the University of Central Florida.

Jeff’s other board service includes serving on the Truist Bank Advisory Board and as President of Sloppy Joe’s Enterprises. He has an extensive history of volunteer work for numerous local organizations serving youth and civic endeavors. His love of the Key West community and knowledge of the many challenges facing individuals and organizations here motivated Jeff to find ways to make a difference.

This became the catalyst to create the Sloppy Joe’s Foundation, as a commitment by Jeff personally, and the Sloppy Joe’s family to make a difference in the island community he and his family call home.

Mindy Schilleci

Mindy Schilleci

Executive Assistant and Property Manager, Bama Budweiser of Montgomery and Selma and ME Schilleci Properties, LLC.

Mindy’s professional experience includes property management, and overseeing operational areas of administrative, bookkeeping and payroll for a variety of companies in Alabama. Upon moving to Key West more than a decade ago, Mindy assumed those responsibilities for a group of family-owned businesses Bama Budweiser, based in Montgomery and Selma, Ala and ME Schilleci Properties, LLC.

Mindy attended Auburn University of Montgomery, majoring in Early Childhood Special Education. 

She has an extensive volunteer background spanning homeowner associations and preservation in several communities. In Key West, Mindy is an active member of the Key West Woman’s Club. Joining the Sloppy Joe’s Foundation board will give Mindy another active role in supporting Key West, as she brings her talents and experience to her board service.

Ashley Hedburg

Ashley Hedberg

With more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Ashley has built a distinguished career, excelling in customer service, team leadership, and operational management. As a key member of the Sloppy Joe’s team, she has played an integral role in delivering exceptional guest experiences, managing high-performing teams, and optimizing business operations.

Ashley earned a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and Advertising from Towson University, which has equipped her with strong communication and organizational skills essential to her leadership roles. She is known for her ability to manage complex situations, foster meaningful relationships, and implement strategies that drive success.

Beyond her professional career, Ashley is deeply committed to community engagement. She was instrumental in creating the Foundation’s “Caturday,” an initiative that reflects her passion for social responsibility and making a positive impact on the community.

Ashley’s extensive experience in hospitality, her leadership in community-driven initiatives, and her unwavering commitment to excellence make her a valuable asset to our board.

Laura Russell

Laura Russell

Director of Corporate Giving, Cheney Brothers, Inc.

As director of corporate giving, Laura manages relationships and contributions to partners and charities throughout the Cheney Brother’s market footprint. Prior to her role with Cheney Brothers, Laura worked for the Florida Senate as a legislative aide to Senate President Jeff Atwater and Senator Ellyn Bogdanoff.

Laura’s family is deeply committed to preserving Florida’s national heritage, with a strong and enduring connection to Key West. An avid angler and hunter, Laura’s board service includes serving as the board chair of the Fish and Wildlife Foundation of Florida and as a board member of the Palm Beach County Food Bank. She is a past president and sustaining member of the Junior League of the Palm Beaches and a former national board member of the FSU Alumni Association.

A graduate of Florida State University, Laura earned a bachelor’s degree and certificate in special event planning. Laura joins the Sloppy Joe’s Foundation board with a commitment to community and giving back to the Key West community.

Tim Stockwell

Vice President and Managing Director Coil Partners USA, Inc.

Tim’s current role is as an executive working in copper coil manufacturing. Tim was responsible for developing the strategy and implementation, staffing, financial and technical processes for a manufacturing facility in Texas. He also established and manages relationships with US-based customers.

After a career in founding businesses and serving in executive consulting, vice president and director roles for a number of industry sectors across the globe, Tim joined his current company.

A resident of Key West, Tim is a member of the Hemingway Look-Alike Society and has been engaged in supporting local charities through the organization. He volunteers as a mentor to young entrepreneurs.

Tim proudly notes he is married to Kathleen Stockwell, a now-retired occupational therapist with the Monroe County School District. He is the father of six children and “Grandude” to 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandkids.

James Martin, Jr.

James Martin Jr.

With over 28 years of experience, James Martin is a distinguished landscape designer renowned for creating stunning outdoor spaces. His global studies have taken him from European gardens to tropical landscapes and Montana’s mountain vistas, inspiring designs that blend classic principles with modern interpretations.

James draws each design by hand, bringing his vision to life with meticulous detail. His skilled craftsmen transform these drawings into exquisite gardens and landscapes for private homes, estates, and commercial properties. He and his team are also deeply involved in Pensacola’s local community, creating beautiful spaces for schools and nonprofit organizations.

James has been traveling to Key West for four weeks each year for the past 15 years and has been a part-time resident for the last five. You can often find him in Key West sketching his landscape designs in his aptly named Airstream, Hemingway’s Hideout.

Beyond his professional endeavors, James is an avid fisherman and cherishes time spent with his four granddaughters.

Debbie Mason

Debbie Mason, CFRE, APR, CPRC, Fellow PRSA

Executive Director, Sloppy Joe’s Foundation

As executive director of the Sloppy Joe’s Foundation, Debbie is responsible for the management and oversight of the foundation’s operations to meet its important mission.

Accredited in public relations, and certified as a professional fundraising executive, Debbie has decades of experience both as a consultant to and as a CEO of nonprofits. She is a long-time resident of Key West, and a multi-generation Floridian.

Debbie earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism specializing in public relations from the University of Florida and a master’s degree in communications management from Syracuse University.

Debbie has a rich history of board service, including serving on the national board of the Public Relations Society of America, and as chair of its national foundation. Other national service includes three different terms of service on the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications’ Public Relations Advisory Council and two terms as its board chair. Locally she is a board member of the Rotary Club of Key West and a graduate of Leadership Monroe County and the City of Key West’s Ambassador program. 

She is passionate about strengthening nonprofit organizations serving the residents of Key West and the Florida Keys. She is founder of the Leadership Success Academy and led its instruction program for more than a decade in partnership with the Community Foundation of the Florida Keys.
