Description
Every October, Key West throws its wildest party of the year, Fantasy Fest, and Sloppy Joe’s has been at the center of the celebration for decades. This shirt is from Sloppy Joe’s 2004 Fantasy Fest collection, with the theme “Fantasy in Sloppyland.”
The full-color back print gives Alice in Wonderland a Key West twist. Alice sits in the grass in her blue dress, holding a cocktail. The Mad Hatter dances behind her with a drink in hand, while the White Rabbit hurries past and a pair of flamingos in sunglasses look on. The Queen of Hearts belts out a song into a microphone, axe in hand, and a grinning Cheshire Cat in sunglasses lounges on a giant red-and-white mushroom. It all happens under palm trees and a starry Key West night sky, framed by “Sloppy Joe’s Bar” in bold red lettering and “Fantasy in Sloppyland 2004 – Key West, Florida” below.
The front has a smaller left-chest design of the Cheshire Cat kicking back in his sunglasses, with “Sloppy Joe’s Bar – Fantasy in Sloppyland – Key West, Florida.”
More than 20 years later, this design is a fun find for Sloppy Joe’s fans, Fantasy Fest regulars, and anyone who collects Key West memorabilia.
