Apply for Caturdays
Be Part of the Fun – Apply for CATURDAYS!
The Sloppy Joe’s Foundation is looking for local Key West 501(c)(3) charities to join our Caturdays giving program. If your nonprofit serves the people who live and work in Key West, we’d love to hear from you!
What are Caturdays?
Every Saturday during your assigned month, your volunteers will be at Sloppy Joe’s Bar (11:45 am – 8:00 pm) spreading joy, inviting bar patrons to give, and handing out our famous blinking cat ear headbands to donors. It’s fun, lively, and a great way to raise both dollars and awareness for your cause.
How much can your nonprofit earn?
Most organizations receive net proceeds of $3,000–$4,000+ during their month, while also building new connections with locals and visitors alike.
What We’ll Need From You
Before applying, please make sure your nonprofit can commit to these requirements:
- Promotional materials – A few weeks before your Caturdays, share a high-res logo and a short write-up of your mission, services, and key talking points for our in-bar announcers.
- Volunteer scheduling – Plan two shifts per Saturday (11:45 am–4:00 pm and 4:00–8:00 pm). You’ll need at least 2 (ideally 4) volunteers per shift.
- Media release – All volunteers must sign our media release and agree to be photographed/filmed while participating. Photos can be used in our marketing for the bar and foundation.
- Social media partnership – Your organization agrees to like, comment, and share Sloppy Joe’s Foundation’s posts about your Caturdays, as well as post from your own accounts tagging Sloppy Joe’s Foundation and Sloppy Joe’s.
- Revenue sharing – Your organization will receive 60% of the funds raised. The other 40% stays with the Foundation to cover staffing, supplies, and event production costs. For most groups that is somewhere between $3,000 and $4,000 that you will take home.
- Scheduling – Sloppy Joe’s reserves the right to restrict the nonprofit from participating in Caturdays during peak scheduled events, such as Fantasy Fest, holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas and a few others. The nonprofit will be notified when selected.
- Rules of engagement – While on the property, your volunteers agree adhere to the safety rules, money collection rules and other rules designed for the safety of the volunteers, bar patrons and employees.
If your nonprofit is ready to have fun, raise funds, and bring community spirit to life—apply today!
